Description
Aloe aristata is a compact and ornamental succulent, highly prized for its densely formed rosettes of dark green leaves dotted with small white spots. Elegant and hardy, it is perfect for lovers of easy-care and decorative plants.
Origin: Native to the mountainous regions of South Africa and Lesotho, where it grows on sun-exposed rocky slopes.
Growth: Slow to moderate growth. It forms a dense rosette 10 to 20 cm in diameter, composed of thick, rigid leaves ending in a flexible tip with a small white filament. Over time, it may produce offshoots at the base, forming a small clump.
Flowers: Flowering in spring or summer. The upright flower stalks can reach 30 to 40 cm and bear numerous tubular orange-red flowers with greenish tips, very attractive to pollinators.
Light: Prefers bright light and a few hours of direct sunlight. Too much shade causes etiolation, while good light keeps the rosette compact and colors vibrant.
Watering: Water only when the substrate is completely dry. Very drought-tolerant, it dislikes overwatering. Reduce watering frequency when it enters dormancy.
Substrate: Use a well-draining succulent potting mix, enriched with pumice or perlite to ensure good aeration and prevent any stagnation of moisture.
Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and animals.
